WHAT WE ARE |
The Cycle Touring and Countryside Trust is a registered charity, set up in 1976, whose wide ranging objects enable it to give financial assistance to initiatives that promote and encourage active cycling as well as to protect and preserve its history and heritage. The Trust endeavours to support a number of good causes each year in one or more of the following areas: |
helping young people get more out of life through leisure cycling; |
providing facilities for recreational cycling, in particular where such provision will improve the quality of people’s lives; |
promoting the education of young people and others through the study of the countryside and places of scenic, historical or architectural interest; |
promoting the preservation and enhancement of such places and the beauty of the countryside; |
promoting road safety, particularly for cyclists; |
maintaining, through a library or museum, items relating to the history of cycling and/or the appreciation of the countryside. |
Donations from cyclists, countryside lovers and like-minded bodies are what make our work possible. Your contributions can make a difference to cycling and the countryside – find out how to donate. Have a look at some of the past projects the Trust has already accomplished. If you have a project for which you need funding, or wish to contact the Trust’s officers, it’s easy to find out who to contact. |
